The Punnett square is THE MANUAL GENETICS CALCULATOR for predicting what Angelfish varieties that you may get from parents of known genotype based on Mendelian Principles

It is not difficult to use and is as simple as listing the parents genetic code, counting the aligned squares and changing them to percentages.

 

Using it will not only give you an idea of what your fish will produce but start increasing your knowledge of how Mendelian genetic principles work.

 

In the top table a Chocolate Male (Sm/Sm) is crossed with a Marble (M/+) female.

The 4 squares make up the total percentage of the probable outcomes (25% per square)

2 squares have Sm/M  therefore 50% will be Smokey Marbles and 2 squares have Sm/+ and 50% will be Smokey’s

Same applies with the other table where 50% will be black Lace and 50% will be silver.
